Problems and risks
-
Skin lesions
Moisture and skin maceration is an external risk factor in the development of pressure ulcers in the operating room.
-
Hypothermia
Moisture in contact with the patient increases the possibility of heat loss.
-
Deviation in protocols
Not having unified protocols increases the risk of error in the assembly of the surgical table.
-
Nosocomial infection
The surgical table is a focus of microorganisms, so it is necessary to create an antibacterial barrier.
-
Safety with electrosurgical energy
The manuals for the use of electrosurgical scalpels cite the need to place the patient on a dry, absorbent and impermeable surface.
-
Spoil assets
Fluids shorten the life of surgical equipment, such as operating tables, increasing hospital costs.
Advantages of our product
-
Absorption
Quam absorbs liquid. It isolates the humidity of the upper layer in about 1 min. leaving it completely dry. It is waterproof.
-
Waterproof
Manufactured on a polyethylene layer.
-
Mechanical resistance
Tensile strength of 45-67 Newton.
-
Size
Different sizes to choose from
-
Weight and Thickness
Extremely thin so as not to interfere with the protection of surgical tables and to optimize storage.
-
Ecological
It avoids the use of multiple products and minimizes hospital waste.
A product designed to suit your needs
- 0 cm Up to 230cm to cover any type of operating table
- 0 min Isolates moisture from the top layer in approx. 1 min.
- 0 kg newton. Tensile strength up to 220kg.
Standard UNE EN 13795
QUAM is manufactured following the strictest specifications according to the UNE EN 13975 standard.
The main objective of this standard is to avoid the transmission of infectious agents in surgical procedures, measuring important parameters such as:
Microbial resistance dry/wet, resistance to liquid penetration, lint emission, breaking strength and tensile strength, cleanliness – Microbial and particle cleanliness.
Layers
-
Semi-permeable sheet
Hydrophilic layer to allow liquid penetration and keep the patient’s skin dry.
-
Absorbent (Super Absorbent Polymers, SAP)
It converts the water into tiny gel beads, thus forming a soft, dry film.
-
Waterproof fabric
Coating made of polyethylene. It allows maximum protection of your equipment such as the surgical table, as it is waterproof.
