What is a prefilled syringe and how to use it?

As its name suggests, a prefilled syringe is a disposable syringe containing a substance inside.

Single-use pre-filled syringes with saline avoid having to repeatedly draw saline from vials or saline bags, which can lead to cross-contamination as it is repeatedly handled.

These syringes prefilled with physiological saline are perfect for minimizing the risk of catheter obstruction and blood reflux generated by the syringe, with the help of flushing catheters and intravenous systems. In Distrauma we have a wide range of pre-filled syringes of 0.9% sterile sodium chloride saline solution (NaCl 0.9%) with sterile packaging. You will find 10ml, 5ml and 3ml syringes. Both the syringe and plunger are made of polypropylene and are compatible with all needleless systems.

It has a Luer-Lock connection with stopper and a rear stopper for safety. In addition, to reduce allergic reactions, the pre-filled syringe is latex, PVC and DEHP free.

The syringe is CE certified and is a Class IIa medical device.
